This Children's Privacy Notice explains how Menty LLC ("Menty") collects, uses, and discloses personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the FTC's COPPA Rule. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Parents are in control
Menty is intended for parents/guardians, mentors, and athletes 16 and older. Children under 13 do not create or hold their own accounts. A parent or guardian creates the account, adds each athlete's profile, and controls the information associated with it. By adding a child's profile and agreeing to our Terms, the parent or guardian provides verifiable consent to the collection and use of that child's information as described here.
What we collect about a child, and why
- Name and age (or date of birth) — to identify the athlete and tailor sessions appropriately.
- Sport(s) and skill details — so a mentor can plan training.
- Emergency contact — for safety during in-person sessions.
- Health/safety notes you choose to provide — allergies, medical conditions, or medications, so a mentor can keep the athlete safe.
- Participation information — bookings, attendance/check-ins, session reflections, goals, and any film, photos, or messages a parent or mentor chooses to add.
We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate. We do not condition a child's participation on providing more information than is needed.
How we use children's information
We use it only to provide and support the Services — scheduling, safety, mentorship, and communicating with the parent/guardian and the booked mentor. We do not use children's information for behavioral or targeted advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We share a child's information only with the mentor the family books (to deliver the session) and with the service providers that operate the platform on our behalf (for example, Supabase for secure database and file storage, Stripe for payment processing, LiveKit for live video, Resend for email, and Vercel for hosting). These providers may use the information only to perform services for us. We may also disclose information when necessary to protect a child's safety or to comply with the law, including reporting suspected abuse or exploitation to the appropriate authorities.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We retain a child's personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services or to meet legal and safety obligations, and then we delete or de-identify it. We maintain a written security program with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of children's information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and role-based database restrictions.
Parental rights
As a parent or guardian, you may at any time:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Refuse to allow further collection or use of your child's information.
- Withdraw your consent.
To exercise these rights, email mentyelevate@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will verify your request before acting on it. If you withdraw consent or ask us to delete your child's information, we may no longer be able to provide certain features for that athlete.
