Our commitment
Menty exists to help young athletes grow in a safe, supportive environment. We take youth safety seriously and expect everyone on the platform to do the same. This page describes what we do, what we require of mentors, and how to raise a concern.
What we expect from mentors
Mentors are independent professionals responsible for meeting the legal and safety obligations that apply to their work with minors. Depending on their location and activity, that can include:
- Background checks — completing criminal-background screening where required for adults who work with children.
- Abuse-prevention training and reporting — understanding and following the U.S. Center for SafeSport / Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act framework where it applies, and complying with mandatory child-abuse reporting laws.
- Concussion and injury safety — following the return-to-play and concussion-education requirements that apply to youth athletics in their state.
- Appropriate conduct and supervision — maintaining professional boundaries and a safe training environment, and carrying their own liability insurance.
Menty is a platform, not the coach. We encourage families to confirm a mentor's credentials, ask about their background screening, and stay involved.
Zero tolerance for abuse
Any form of abuse, grooming, or exploitation of a minor is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the platform. We report suspected child abuse and any child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement as required by law.
How to report a concern
- Emergency or immediate danger: call 911.
- Suspected child abuse: contact your local authorities or the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453.
- Something on Menty: email mentyelevate@gmail.com with as much detail as you can. We treat safety reports seriously and confidentially, and we will not retaliate against anyone who makes a good-faith report.
Code of conduct
Everyone on Menty — mentors, parents, and athletes — is expected to act with respect and integrity, consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy. Behavior that endangers or demeans a participant has no place here.
Parents: stay involved
You know your athlete best. Communicate with mentors, share any medical or safety information they need, watch sessions when you can, and reach out to us with any concern. Safety works best as a partnership.
